PotatoTongs 3-Step Peeling Instructions
Step 1: Put the PotatoTongs™ (potato tongs) in one hand and a clean fruit or vegetable in the other hand. Position the spikes near the closest end of the fruit or vegetable so that the maximum amount of surface area will be exposed for peeling.
Step 2: Squeeze the PotatoTongs™ arms together so that the spikes penetrate into the fruit or vegetable leaving the maximum amount of surface area exposed for peeling.
Step 3: IMPORTANT, for more control, move the hand on the PotatoTongs™ close to the fruit or vegetable ("choke up"). Now peel the fruit or vegetable safely using a peeler or knife.
This is also IMPORTANT: When opening the PotatoTongs, to remove the spikes from a potato, vegetable or fruit, make sure the lock ring is slid all the way back near the rivet. Otherwise, the PotatoTongs may not open. An easy way to do this is to hold the PotatoTongs with the grasping end point up and the rivet end pointing down. This way, usually the lock ring will slide down on it's own.
